King Edward VI Education Trust

Encouraging Excellence, Nurturing Talent

With a high achieving Grammar School at its heart, the Trust inevitably places a great emphasis on working collaboratively with schools to help raise achievement.

It is important to stress again the concept of a collaborative partnership to help raise achievement.  By helping Trust schools to work together, the Trust hopes that best practice will be shared across the schools.  An Outstanding school gains to learn just as much from a school that Requires Improvement; the quest for achievement should be mutually beneficial to all parties.

Central to this belief is the idea of School to School Mentoring Teams.  By bringing together passionate individuals from across the Trust schools and across the phases we believe that secondaries can learn as much from primaries as primaries can from secondaries.

The Trust seeks to deploy teams to help  raise achievement across the Trust. These Teams might draw together the best practitioners in Mathematics, English or Science to help evaluate departmental performance, identify areas for development and then work collaboratively across the schools to help bring about improvement.

The same principle might be replicated in other areas, departments or more generally across Teaching and Learning or in Leadership and Management.
